A hard post to write
They say time is a great healer and we're sure that given more time we will become more comfortable with letting Bermudez BDA go to a new home, but it's still a hard choice and talking about it is only just becoming easier.
Bermudez BDA (Billy) has been for us the most wonderful and really unique horse that anyone could have wished to own. His life with us was way more dramatic and eventful than it should have been, and those who know us will be aware of the story π€
He came to us as a very weak 4 year old and no matter how he felt, he did everything in his power to perform to his best and win those classes. He took Daisy from Pony Discovery classes to winning the Pony Newcomers class at HOYS and many other great wins, he evented, did Pony club, won so many classes for Daisy and became a sought-after Pony. We turned down offers for him so that Daisy could continue the story, something that we will always be proud of π€©
We lent him to PS Lee from Dorset Police so she could achieve one of her dreams, and win he did, at the prestigious London International Horse Show. Another magical moment for everyone concerned.
Then when Daisy left, he was very successfully ridden by Daniella Johnston and then he went to the Lanni's for the lovely Sienna to ride in Children on Horses Teams. He stepped up to the mark as the horse that he is, and because of him, we got to travel to Europe so that he could represent GB in the CoH Teams. He was nothing short of superb, always up for the job, never sick or sorry and always wanting to win for Sisi.
We have made some wonderful memories because of him, made many new friends and been to places we wouldn't have got to otherwise. We will always be so grateful to Billy, for just being Billy... the goon, the trier, the friend and the winner π¦π¦
We wish Billy and his new rider all the very best with him and will continue to watch with love and affection as he makes another person's dreams come true π₯°π₯°
