Stallion Show Success at Brackenspa Stud

Koning Sport Horses were delighted to attend the Brackenspa Stud Stallion Open Day on Saturday, where both Koning Albert and Cassionora GF attracted a great deal of interest from visiting mare owners.

It was a big ask for our "baby" Cassionora GF, who is technically not four until June. This was a significant outing for him, particularly as it was his first time travelling in the lorry with another horse — let alone another stallion. However, both horses travelled impeccably and behaved faultlessly throughout.

Cass found the morning quite overwhelming, with plenty to take in — visitors, prams, dogs and lots of attention certainly pushed his excitement levels up. However, by lunchtime he had settled enough for Daisy to plait him and prepare him for his turn.

As always, Koning Albert (Berti) took everything in his stride. Following the lunch break, Daisy and Berti delivered a superb display, jumping around the arena with ease and confidence, making the fences look like simple warm-up jumps. It was wonderful to watch, and even Daisy surprised herself with the height they comfortably jumped.

Cass certainly didn't let the team down. He demonstrated his wonderful temperament, taking part in a small flatwork display and popping a low fence — appropriate for his age as we are keen not to overdo him too early in his career.

Overall, we were extremely pleased with how both stallions performed. It was fantastic to meet so many new people and speak with mare owners interested in both boys. Despite the chilly weather, it was a thoroughly enjoyable and successful day.
