After two months of being super busy competing, training, and truly rocking it in dressage, our stallion Koning Albert (Berti) was very excited to switch things up and head back into the jumping ring.
Feeling fresh and on great form, Berti stepped into the 1m25 class at our lovely local venue, Willow Banks EC, with Dani Johnston in the saddle. Dani had a very full schedule, riding and warming up multiple horses across both days, but still found the time and energy to give Berti a fantastic ride.
As Berti warmed up, the looming black skies finally decided to release a heavy downpour. While many dashed for shelter, Berti, Dani and Jill braved the rain, staying focused and determined. Fortunately, although the rain continued throughout his round, it wasn't quite so heavy — and it certainly didn't dampen spirits.
Berti, ignoring the foul weather, rewarded Dani with a lovely double clear which was a great result. More than anything, the goal was for him to enjoy himself and build confidence — and he did just that.
A brilliant step forward, and a sign of exciting things to come!
