A Successful Weekend at Sheepgate Area Festivals
In a spur-of-the-moment decision, the team headed to the Area Festivals at Sheepgate Equestrian Centre with both Berti and Lyon in tow.
Lyon took to the stage first on Thursday and Friday, competing in the Prix St Georges FSTM class. On top form, he delivered a confident and fluent test to secure a well-deserved win — making for one very happy rider. ✅
On Saturday this weekend, it was Koning Albert's turn in the Advance Medium Freestyle to Music. With a strong field of talented horses and riders, the class was always going to be closely contested. Although Albert is still finding his confidence in the flying changes (with the emphasis firmly on "flying"), he and Ellie produced a harmonious performance, earning 68.33% and taking 1st place.
The judges praised Albert's way of going, the engaging music, and the challenging floorplan — devised by Ellie — which came together beautifully on the day.
