After more than two months away from the dressage arena, Koning Albert made made his long-awaited return to the dressage arena at Willow Banks EC on Sunday. 💙
Thanks to a few self-inflicted mishaps involving repeatedly removing his front shoes on the sheep fencing (and the resulting minor leg injuries 🙈), Berti has been out of schooling since April. Thankfully, those days are now behind him!
Partnered by the wonderful Ellie Roberts, Berti performed a beautiful Medium Freestyle to Music, dancing his way to 🥇 1st Place with a fantastic 68.67%🖤
He was a little tense at the start, but as the test progressed he relaxed, found his rhythm and produced a lovely performance. We were especially pleased with the result as the arenas were riding deep in the hot dry weather that we are stuck with. Fortunately, Berti has always loved deeper going, and it certainly suited him on the day.
Every time this horse goes down the centre line, he seems to improve that little bit more, and we couldn't be more proud of him. ❤️

Alongside working long hours and producing her own horses, Ellie puts an enormous amount of time into schooling both Koning Albert and Cassionora GF, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she does.
